Welcome to nu-trio, a place where great food is at the heart of all things wonderful. We are friends who love to cook delicious food together while raising our little girls. We believe in savoring the balance of eating well while enjoying the process of preparing food, devoting time and energy to personal fitness, and planning for the future through awareness of how we treat our earth.

Nutrio comes from the latin word for “nourish,” and is the manifestation of these things we consider the essentials of joyous living. Join us as we explore a world of food and healthy living…

Meet MC-

I once spent my days making lesson plans, grading essays, and observing the wonderfully bizarre minds of Eighth graders. Before that, It was typical of me to spend enough days hiking in the woods to warrant two showers before entering a public space, but one thing has remained; I have always loved to eat. I have been devouring cookbooks, cooking shows, and good food for as long as I can remember. It seems fitting that I pour my spare time into a food project; not that spare time is wildly abundant since the arrival of a remarkably cute, free-time hoarder in March of 2010.  I am so thrilled that you stopped by to check out what Elisa and I are up to and I look forward to your comments. Cheers!

The Hubby and the “Happy” Baby:

Meet Elisa-

I love these things: family, friends, food, fitness and this planet.  Life is short and mine is fortunately chock full with a husband (spanish teacher extraordinaire), two precious little girls, two big ole’ dogs and a variety of jobs.  I am a trained computer tech, a sous chef at the most fabulous Beechwood Inn and also a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. So, I asked myself, why not jot down as many of my favorite things as possible and take as many beautiful pictures as I can while I am flying through the life experience? Sounded good to me…so, me and my clever and like-minded compadre, MC, have taken to the blog world.  With that said – it is nice to meet you!
